Crackerjack was asked by @Heart to event manage the Heart Stopper program in Auckland, a charity event that raises money for children born with a heart condition.
The Heart Stopper challenge saw teams of up to six people plunge into an icy pool for five minutes in this unique fundraising event. Participants were dressed in fancy dress and showed not only bravery and camaraderie but had a lot of fun in the process. While there was no entry fee required, participants were asked to raise at least $100 for @Heart who used these proceeds to support children and their families staying on the National Paediatric Cardiac Ward in Auckland.
We also provided all the health and safety and logistics for the event. Spa pools were set up under marquees at Takutai Square in Britomart, with local firemen providing the water and ice. Trained medical professionals were onsite checking the pulses of our participants and of course we had the all-important non slip matting on hand!
We made the experience of sitting in a pool of ice as fun as it can be, with music pumping, a hot drink on hand and a prize giving for the participants. We supported @Heart with team recruitment and helped with fundraising initiatives. This was such a fun and unique event for us that we loved being a part of. The only real challenge posed was, where to dispose of all that ice!
